My Valentinr - kimberlovestaz
Get your own valentinr

You know you love me so show me!!!!! Show me!!!!

Say it isn't so?!?

This is HORRIBLE news. I just might have to watch one of his movies tonight in his honor.

She's sweet as a rose, yes she is...

I have friends who ask me from time to time "What are you listening to these days?" Well, here's my answer right now:

This guy is amazing. Not at all my normal kind of music but I love the sound so much and the lyrics are well, I don't even know how to describe it.

Beyond him, let's see, I'm still obsessed with Broadway soundtracks as well as a few movie ones (e.g. PS I Love You, Enchanted, etc).

I love checking out new music so if anyone has any suggestions, feel free to throw them my way.

Taz and I had a conversation over e-mail today that took me back to a time in my life I'd long-since forgotten. This is in no way his fault. It's mine. The good thing is, I don't look back on the time as a mistake. Now, a learning experience.

I am definitely making some changes. All for the better. Just wait and see.

Because Chuck made me do it...

While I don't usually find myself getting overly involved in politics, I couldn't resist posting this after watching it on YouTube. God Bless America!

Follow the leader...

So far I've responded to mobobocita and foozle's versions. Joy!

I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. I read your journals, or we have something else in common, and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me, and I thank you for your interest in my words.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...they enjoy the savory aroma of monkey brains a la mode."

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal and see what gems of knowledge appear.

Go forth and do.

And if you've actually posted this yourself, link to it here so that I can reply to you.

It's that time of year again...

When I found this last year, I couldn't believe I'd been a ZB/Scrubs fan for years and didn't know it existed. This year, I am sharing it again.

My Charlie Brown ChristmasCollapse )
Silly writergirlnyc this is for you.

Comment, and I'll:

1) Tell you why I friended you.
2) Associate you with a song/film.
3) Tell a random fact about you.
4) Tell a first memory about you.
5) Associate you with a character/pairing.
6) Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
7) Tell you my favorite user pic of yours.
8) In retort, you must spread this disease in your LJ.

I could be the Walrus...

But you've gotta have friends...

My new friend, Chris showed me this hilarious YouTube video tonight. It's set to a song that most people know and love by KT Tunstall. Some of you may be sick of the song but this is too great not to watch. Be sure to watch all the way to the end.

Photo of the Day sites...

I need some suggestions of places to go to look at good photography. I'm not picky about the content or color (black and white is beautiful too). I just want something to look at to pass the time. Oh and maybe something that would be worthy of my desktop wallpaper.

Send away! I can't wait to see what suggestions I get.

Today's horoscope...

I don't normally read my horoscope but the last few weeks a co-worker of mine has been suggesting it so I started. And it's been pretty accurate the last few times. Take today for example:

Sooner or later, discussion has to end and action has to start. Move forward.

It's all a matter of where to begin at this point. I just know that I'm tired of feeling lost all the time. I need a compass, or something.

So my plan for now is get out and find myself. Whoever she is. Wish me luck!

Funny stuff...

It's Friday night, I'm tired, I'm bored and I've been surfing You Tube for quite awhile now. Lookie what I found. Treats!

He deserves it, I'm crazy proud...

merryaquarian started it!!!!

The Part of You That No One Sees

You are passionate, romantic, and emotional.
You put love first in your life, even though you have often been disappointed by it.
You expect to be swept of your feet, and you never expect infatuation to die out.

Underneath it all, you are scared that you aren't lovable.
Your insecurity has ruined many relationships, as you are unable to see the love that's really there.
You are secretly afraid of being alone. Confronting your insecurities is incredibly painful.

I'm in love...

This guy, his voice and his choice of song last night, made me swoon. I've been a Jamiroquai fan since the mid-90's so hearing him sing this makes me the happiest woman in the world. I'm in love with Blake Lewis.

Justin Timberlake anyone? Yum! He has the look and sound. I can live with that. :)

Must have this immediately...

This clip is from a movie that just scored Best Animated Short Film at the Oscars. I am in love with it and I've only seen 1:05 of it. I'm dying to find the rest out there somewhere. I'd love icons too but I'm not talented enough for it.

Enjoy it!

Grey's friends unite!!!!

I'm going mad over here. Anyone a Grey's fan that's up for a primetime chat? I need conversation. I'm gonna wanna cry and *squee* and ooh and ahh at every moment tonight.

My screenname is kimberinthecity on Y! and AIM and haveyoumetkimber on MSN.

Thank you, valentinr...

I am speechless. Absolutely speechless. I can't stop smiling.

Thank you to everyone who responded to my valentinr over the last week. I didn't expect any responses at all to be honest. I ended up with three surprises. I am still in shock. Yes, shock. Two of them have left me scratching my head. They were anonymous valentines saying things that I still can't believe. None of them were bad, don't get me wrong. They were beautiful words, words, I can't and won't share here. They were sent to me discreetly, I would assume for a reason. I intend to leave it that way.

What a nice way to end the day. A nice way, indeed.

Ideas for care package...

It's audience participation time.

I need suggestions for items to include in a care package I am sending to my cousin in Iraq. I would like to send things that I know he loves but also things that he can give to some of the folks over there who aren't receiving anything. I was thinking of getting some folks from my office to write him a note or put something in the box as well. If anyone is interested in participating in this, please let me know. I will give you my mailing address. He's going to be there until at least August so we have plenty of time.

Any ideas are appreciated.
*uber amounts of hugs to my best friend in the whole world*

Happy birthday crystella74!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope it is everything you want and more.

I love you!!!!!

Trying to improve my karma...

"Put your responsiblities on the back burner and your friends on the front. "

If anyone needs me, email me. I'm all yours today. You are on the front burner. So to speak. Yes, I'm reaching out. I'm in a position to help by listening and offering advice (when asked).

So get started. You know where to find me.

*hugs* to those who need them and *non-hugs* to those who don't like them or want them.

I've taken the bait...

Best news of 2007

I am so giddy. Squeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Feliz cumpleanos a silentkid

Happy birthday, sweetheart!!!!!!!

I hope it's a good one. You deserve a day just for you.

Let's get together soon and celebrate, k?

ZB got Punk'd

My first real chuckle of the day...

My man drives a 100K Porsche. Hawt!

A musical request...

This goes out to my friends who have fantastic music collections and access to CD burners. I'm looking for 6 CDs to put in Thumper's CD changer and play on my Christmas road trip. Since I'm hitting the road alone, I'm going to need something to keep me awake. Audio books are out. I've found they induce sleep. I own nearly everything U2's ever recorded so no need for any Bono surprises. I wouldn't mind a copy of Maroon 5's Songs About Jane. Beyond that, I'm really looking for new stuff. I've found that the soundtracks of One Tree Hill and Grey's Anatomy are what's really rocking for me these days. I have both season 1 soundtracks but wouldn't mind having the rest.

Any ideas? Anyone? Anyone?

Happy Turkey Birthday!

Happy birthday to...

I hope it's grand, filled with food, family and fun.

My first community!

If you're watching the show, then join my community, please

Rocky Horror 2006 Style

I've always thought I would make a great casting director. I have fun re-casting old movies with current actors/actresses. Hence the idea to re-cast Rocky Horror. I would love to hear your ideas. This should be good for a laugh.

Dr. Frank N. Furter
Dr. Scott
Riff Raff

Of course if you think of any other people I've left out, please add them to your own cast list. I'm looking forward to this. RHPS is on VH1 Classic tonight. I'll be watching it for sure.

My Own Rocky Horror Picture Show

Dr. Frank N. Furter - Howard Stern (he's dark haired and tall and the first person I thought of when this name popped up)
Dr. Scott - Sam Waterston (or some other old guy who looks decent in a suit)
Brad - Zach Braff (or someone equally good at playing a complete and total dork)
Janet - Jessica Simpson (or someone equally good at playing a ditzy blonde)
Riff Raff - Patrick Stewart (okay seriously, this would RAWK) if not him because of his age then someone about 6'5 who is either already bald or would be okay with less hair
Magenta - Lindsay Lohan (she's a great redhead and definitely has the energy)
Columbia - Ashlee Simpson (because the idea makes me laugh)
Eddie - Christian Slater (one of my old bad boy favorites)
Rocky - Matthew McCounaghey (or an equally gorgeous man who would look great in a gold Speedo)

That was fun!

Your turn!
It's Friday, it must be time for a Friday Five. I needed a break from work today. Kinda slow.

1) What was the last thing that you ate?
Breakfast croissant with bacon

2) Who was the last person you shared a meal with?
Dad on Monday night at the hockey game

3) What is your favorite all time dish (recipes welcome)?
Grandma's tamales or my other Grandma's lasagna

4) If you could eat one thing for an entire year, what would it be?
On the Border

5) If you could have dinner with any five people (dead or alive) who would they be?
My grandparents (Dad's parents), my great-grandfather (Dad's grandpa), JFK, Zach Braff

Any takers?

Anyone wanna see this with me on Saturday?

Running with Scissors

And now back to your important blog reading...

I can't say I'm all that surprised...

Not that he's any less of an actor because of it.

Don't read if you don't want to know anything about the personal lives of the actors of Grey's Anatomy.

It's official...

I've been at my desk for less than 10 minutes and already I want to go home.

It's going to be a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooong day. I am tired and horribly cranky.

I'm turning in early tonight for sure.

Because I am a crazy bored at work today...

1. Favorite Beverage
Sweet tea, having some right now.
2. Favorite TV Show
Grey's Anatomy and Entourage
3. Movie that's coming out soonish that you most want to see
Catch and Release - okay so it isn't until next year but still it stars Kevin Smith with a speaking part. Yay! Oh and Marie Antoniette but more for the acting of Jason Schwartzman and the writing of Sophia Coppolla than for Kristen Dunst. :)
4. Best Book you read in the last year
Monkey Business by Sarah Mlynowski or The Unthinkable Thoughts of Jacob Green by Joshua Braff (still reading)
5. Worst thing you've ever read
I don't know that I've ever met a book I didn't like. :)
Hadn't intended to grab breakfast on the way in this morning but for some reason I chose to stop at McDonald's and grab a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit, something I haven't had in ages. It sounded good so I went for it.

I pull up to the drive-thru speaker and say...

Kimberly: "I'd like a #2 with an orange juice, please."
Drive-thru Lady: "A #3 with an orange juice will that be all today?"
Kimberly: "No. A #2 please."
Drive-thru Lady: "A #2, ok. Is that it?"
Kimberly: "Yes."
Drive-thru Lady: "That will be $4.32 please drive through."

So I drive through and pay. What happens?

I end up with a #3.

At least they got the drink right.

I think I'm gonna play McDonald's Monopoly online before I start my day. I would hate for someone to catch my wrath this morning. I hate wasting money.

I won't be eating at a McDonald's again for awhile. I decided to eat the food despite the fact that it was my least favorite of all the breakfast combos. I am soooooo sick. The stomach is NOT happy. So much for "Lovin' It." Bah!

Have fun, stay single...

Nothing puts my love life into perspective better than one of the best movies of the 90's.

Tons of great quotes, words to live by.

Oh yes, I'm happy it's been added to On Demand. I'll be watching it a lot for the next few weeks.

Great music and the single life. Could there be anything better?

So I'm supposed to enjoy the single life while I have it, right?

Here I go! Off to enjoy my single life.
I thought I'd sneak in a quick journal entry before work today.

Happy Friday everyone!

Things in my world are pretty good. I'm enjoy a nice breakfast courtesy of the building's deli (sausage rolls anyone?). And orange juice? I never drink orange juice but today it sounded pretty tasty.

I've already picked up my paycheck and been at the office for 10 minutes. I think it's gonna be a good day. It's too soon to tell.

The weekend is wide open. No plans tonight so far, tomorrow is breakfast with Dad and then more nothing. Saturday night is Girls Game Night. Sunday is football and then more nothing. And surprisingly, it all sounds grand. I guess I'm keeping my options open. Or maybe it's the lack of funds that's really keeping me home. But I don't mind. I've actually started enjoying my alone time more than I used to.

I tried eight times last night to write an entry. There was so much to say and no way to say it. Sad. Oh well. *sigh* Maybe later.

Hump Day

The best Scrubs episode ever is on right now. Colin Hay, lead singer of Men at Work (great Australian 80's band) follows JD around for most of the show singing Overkill. It's hilarious. This episode never gets old.

Scored two shows from Netflix tonight. Freaks and Geeks and Undeclared. I'm looking forward to it. Most likely it will be my weekend plans. I'm also in the mood to bake and have decided to make chocolate chip cookies for the Girls Game Night. If anyone is interested in participating in our little fun with board games this weekend, let me know.

Just saw an ad on TV for a CD that I am dying to buy. It's called Buzz Ballads. It's basically a compliation of great rock songs of the last 15 years or so. Rock on! Only problem? It's $30. Yeah, not so much.

I am in love with Zach Braff. I know I say this a lot but it's true. He's the man. Thank God for Scrubs reruns and Garden State. *sigh*

Six Feet Under...

I'm falling in love with Peter Krause all over again.

Bravo has started showing Six Feet Under from the beginning. A fantastically dark and twisted show. With Peter at the head of it all.

I can't stop smiling. Gee, I wonder why.

Yes, I enjoy being cryptic.

I got a bug in my ear all of a sudden to go through a few of the bags I'd set aside for Goodwill. This was mostly older clothes that I felt were a little outdated, style-wise. I realized today that I have no sense of style and decided to pull a few of these items out and reconsider them. Especially since I just scored 4 pairs of black pants, a pair of khaki capris and a bunch of shirts. All without having to go shopping. If only I could've somehow magically found my old favorite pair of Doc Marten sandals while scouring. *sigh*

I think I just might give some of these clothes a shot. No one has to know their old. They look new.

It's gonna be a good week. I can tell...

Sunday, cuz that's my fun day...

Today's been a good day. Went out with Dad, feelingpunchy and shesgotmynumber to watch my lovely Chiefs kick some serious ass. What an amazing game, 41-0 over San Francisco. The Cowboys won too. heh I love football. We told lots of stories, Dad told tons of jokes and we had an all-around great time.

Stupid A/C in the apartment is on the blink, again. This is the eighth time since March we've had to have it worked on. Needless to say we're not happy about it. Today I actually got my Dad involved and he called and did quite a bit of yelling to the woman on the phone about the negligence on the complex's part with regard to fixing this problem in the first place. I came home after the game and the the temperature gauge is set to 72 but it's reading 82. Yeah, it's pretty warm in here. Thank God for fans. From what I hear it should be completely fixed permanently by the time we get home from work tomorrow. Considering it's supposed to be in the high 90's until at least Thursday, it's definitely going to need to be taken care of.

About to settle in for the evening with some lovely hummus and pita chips, an SVU/Extreme Makeover Home Edition marathon and the best book I've read in awhile (Joshua Braff's).

Oh and in the world of potential romantic news, I just scored two winks on True.com. I have my free account for another 5 days. Wish me luck! :)

The day so far...

I'm addicted to Berry Rain Gatorade. I've been out in this lovely 96-degree weather we're having. Um, yeah, I've been sweating all morning. And it's frustrating. Shouldn't the temperature have gone down by like 20-30 degrees by now? Sometimes Texas kills me. Stupid weather.

The Beat Generation in New York A Walking Tour of Jack Kerouac's City - The greatest find! I went to Half Price Books looking for NYC travel books and came across this wonderful little book. I am really excited about seeing what it has to offer.

I also scored another book, The Unthinkable Thoughts of Jacob Green courtesy of wickedsin. Just borrowing, of course. I'm hoping to actually have the time to read sometime in the future. Lately things have been pretty crazy. But I'm loving every minute of it.

Thinking of making a run to Whole Foods in a bit for some Tomato Basil Hummus and Pita Chips. It's one of my favorite snacks in the world these days. It's just so hot outside that I really don't want to go back out. I may put it off until tomorrow. I need to do some real grocery shopping anyway. I do much better in the early AM.

Debating what to do about a new computer. This poor laptop has just about reached the end of its life. I can't really afford anything new but I'm not sure what to do. I looked at a few today at Fry's and a few of them were pretty great but I just don't have the money right now. It's a shame I don't have better credit, I could buy one online and it wouldn't matter. Okay, that sounded bad. In the end it would just be nice to have a decent computer that I don't have to worry about breaking down or losing more keys on. Something with a CD/DVD burner would be nice. Beyond that I'm not all that picky. I suppose I'll know it when I see it. Whatever "it" is.

Originally planned to go out to a movie tonight with paradise_los but he's developed a headache. So it's all about the movies at home tonight. Maybe I'll order some Chinese food or something and make it a girls night with the roomie.

Stupid PMS. I went through the whole morning feeling fine. Came home, feeling crampy and gross. So maybe I need a movie that'll get the emotions out and the tears flowing and be done with it. Phantom of the Opera maybe? Maybe I'll invade the roomies' collection. I wouldn't mind seeing something new. The again, all of a sudden I have an urge to watch the Leo/Claire version of Romeo and Juliet. Damn, I need a Blockbuster account for that. Bah!

Oh brother where art thou?

The search is on.

Mr Right must be:

30-40 years old
No kids
Never married
Love sports

You would think this would be easy. Yeah, not so much.

So, Romeo, Romeo...where the hell are ya?

Just waiting. I have to give it time.

Yes, patience. *sigh*

The Last Kiss (Spoilerific)

Disclaimer: Do NOT read if you are ever going to see this movie, I do give away the entire story and the ending.

Zacg Braff does it again...Collapse )

So many to choose from...
