I have friends who ask me from time to time "What are you listening to these days?" Well, here's my answer right now:

Voltaire

This guy is amazing. Not at all my normal kind of music but I love the sound so much and the lyrics are well, I don't even know how to describe it.

Beyond him, let's see, I'm still obsessed with Broadway soundtracks as well as a few movie ones (e.g. PS I Love You, Enchanted, etc).

I love checking out new music so if anyone has any suggestions, feel free to throw them my way.

Taz and I had a conversation over e-mail today that took me back to a time in my life I'd long-since forgotten. This is in no way his fault. It's mine. The good thing is, I don't look back on the time as a mistake. Now, a learning experience.

I am definitely making some changes. All for the better. Just wait and see.

I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. I read your journals, or we have something else in common, and we chat occasionally. Some of you I hardly know at all. Perhaps you lurk, for whatever reason. But you friended me, and I thank you for your interest in my words.

But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...they enjoy the savory aroma of monkey brains a la mode."

I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. Yes, even you people who I know really well. Then post this in your own journal and see what gems of knowledge appear.

I don't normally read my horoscope but the last few weeks a co-worker of mine has been suggesting it so I started. And it's been pretty accurate the last few times. Take today for example:

Sooner or later, discussion has to end and action has to start. Move forward.

It's all a matter of where to begin at this point. I just know that I'm tired of feeling lost all the time. I need a compass, or something.

So my plan for now is get out and find myself. Whoever she is. Wish me luck!

I am speechless. Absolutely speechless. I can't stop smiling.

Thank you to everyone who responded to my valentinr over the last week. I didn't expect any responses at all to be honest. I ended up with three surprises. I am still in shock. Yes, shock. Two of them have left me scratching my head. They were anonymous valentines saying things that I still can't believe. None of them were bad, don't get me wrong. They were beautiful words, words, I can't and won't share here. They were sent to me discreetly, I would assume for a reason. I intend to leave it that way.

What a nice way to end the day. A nice way, indeed.

Ideas for care package...

It's audience participation time.

I need suggestions for items to include in a care package I am sending to my cousin in Iraq. I would like to send things that I know he loves but also things that he can give to some of the folks over there who aren't receiving anything. I was thinking of getting some folks from my office to write him a note or put something in the box as well. If anyone is interested in participating in this, please let me know. I will give you my mailing address. He's going to be there until at least August so we have plenty of time.

Any ideas are appreciated.
